Pimberly named a Shopify Certified Technology Partner

Certification places the UK PIM and DAM platform among fewer than 100 apps reviewed by Shopify against its advanced requirements for enterprise merchants

Pimberly has been confirmed by Shopify as a Certified Technology Partner. The certification follows a review of the Pimberly Shopify connector against Shopify’s advanced requirements for merchants trading on Shopify Plus.

Shopify assesses partners across five areas before certifying them: support cover, security and privacy through a third-party assessment and a Letter of Validation, performance against advanced integration standards, current adoption of Shopify’s latest APIs, and a track record of delivery with Plus merchants. Fewer than 100 apps in the Shopify App Store currently hold the certification.

Certified partners are listed in Shopify’s Technology Partner Directory and a dedicated App Store collection, and work with a named partnership manager and Shopify’s solutions architects.

For merchants, certification answers questions a technical evaluation would otherwise spend several weeks on. It confirms the connector has been reviewed against a defined standard, that Pimberly runs current Shopify APIs rather than an earlier version, and that a third-party security assessment exists on record.

What the connector does

The Pimberly Shopify connector is a native app installed from the Shopify App Store. It supports:

  • Product and variant data, including SEO-enriched descriptions and metafields at both parent and variant level
  • Images, video and documents pushed to Shopify’s CDN from the same platform that holds the product record
  • Active or draft status, so a range can be built and proofed ahead of a launch date
  • Pricing, including compare-at prices at product and variant level
  • Multiple stores from a single Pimberly tenant, for multi-brand and multi-region merchants
  • Event-driven updates rather than scheduled file transfers, so a change made in Pimberly reaches the storefront in near real time
  • Error logging that names the record and the reason, so a failed listing can be corrected quickly

Merchants already running the connector

Pimberly has over 30 customers using Shopify, including Love Shopping Direct, which operates five Shopify storefronts across home, air treatment and lighting brands, with more than 12,000 products and 18,000 digital assets behind them. Having moved to Pimberly from a PIM that could not keep pace with the range, the retailer has cut time to market by 40%, with digital assets live from the day a product is published.

Merchants trading on Shopify almost always sell through other channels as well: marketplaces, trade catalogues, print, distributor portals and partner sites. Each requires the same product described to a different specification. Centralising product data in Pimberly allows merchants to enrich once, govern ownership once, and publish to every channel from the same record.

Pimberly is the only UK-headquartered PIM listed in Shopify’s partner directory, built, hosted and supported in the UK and implemented by its own team rather than third-party partners.
