Pimberly’s Vendor Portal is for retailers, distributors and manufacturers who manage product data from suppliers. It ensures that suppliers upload product data in a pre-specified format to a dedicated portal. This data can then be reviewed and validated prior to publishing to sales channels.

Who can use Vendor Portal?

Distributors have many vendors/suppliers who provide product data in their own unique methods and formats. It’s not unlikely for a distributor to have up to 500 vendors/suppliers providing multiple product categories. Validate

Any validation and/or data sets defined in the Pimberly customers account are pulled into the Vendor Portal, removing the need to duplicate work. In other words, Pimberly customers then add further validation per attribute to truly define the product data that will be coming in, increasing efficiency of handling the data. Then, once the PDT is uploaded by the vendor/supplier, the system will recheck the validation set out in the steps above. However, if the product data submitted does not meet the criteria as set by you, it is flagged.  

Enrich

Ensure that your product data is always of the best quality by requesting product enrichment for your products. For example, when creating a product enrichment request,  select the products and specify the products you wish to enrich. Consequently, this generates a pre-populated PDT which is then used by your vendors to change the product data that you have defined. Moreover, be lazer precise about the attributes that need enriching and who they get sent to, saving time for both you and your vendor.

How does it work?

A Product Data Template (PDT) is a data structure defining the properties that describe a product. To clarify, they are often Excel Spreadsheets, used widely across various sectors to provide accurate information about a product.  Ultimately, Product Data Templates quickly become extremely overcomplex and often require a lot of maintenance.  

With Pimberly’s Vendor Portal module, automate the entire process surrounding Product Data Templates. For example, with the PDT feature in Vendor Portal, manage all Product Data Templates in one place. In other words, doing so helps create bespoke PDT for various audiences. This also means product data upload, and validation happens in real-time.

PDTs allow Pimberly customers to control exactly what product data, and in what format, they receive. Here, a Pimberly customer can specify scope and locale as well as generate unique PDTs per vendor/supplier to allow the Pimberly Customer to get a blend of product data.
