A channel export needs every variant to carry the full picture without that content being duplicated on each record. In Pimberly, the export mapping brings the levels together: size inherited upwards from the sellable SKU, the range description and shared features inherited downwards from the parent, colour pulled from the level between. The resulting file lists complete SKUs assembled from data entered once at the correct level.
With Pimberly’s export mapping and inheritance, you can:
- Hold product data at the level it belongs to — variant details like size on the sellable SKU, range-level content like the marketing description on the parent
- Build an export mapping that brings those levels together into one file
- Inherit attributes upwards from the child, so a variant carries its own size
- Inherit attributes downwards from the parent, so every variant carries the range description without duplicating it on each record
- Pull in attributes held at intermediate levels, such as colour, the same way
