An unclear and unstructured catalogue  

Before Pimberly, Maple Prime relied on a single attribute to store all product information, which made the catalogue unclear and difficult to manage. All data appeared in one long line of text, so teams struggled to separate attributes and maintain consistency. Items followed different formats, which made it almost impossible to prepare clean listings for the website or marketplaces.

Lifecycle stages were introduced for images, attributes and reviews, so each team could see what needed doing at every step.

The platform removed a large amount of manual work by allowing teams to complete updates in bulk and move products through the workflow without exporting spreadsheets. Training took four to six months, with personalised sessions that helped the team understand and refine their setup.  

A small number of attributes were connected via API, while the rest of the process ran directly through Pimberly. The CTO led the project internally and introduced SOPs so staff could work with clear guidance.
